Applications for X

On this page we discuss possible X application to include in ConnochaetOS. It's not so much a “philosophical” discussion, more a collection of technical facts. This page should help to decide what app will be chose for ConnochaetOS.

If you want to add an application, please mention:

• Name of the program (as headline), URL and/or where to download
• Short description
• Possibly existing PKGBUILD (i. e. link to Arch AUR); if the application is a group of packages, list the applications in it
• License
• Dependencies
• What applications give the best results while using the one you mention
• Memory measurements (preferable with smem (http://www.selenic.com/smem/, german instrutions at http://www.datenkobold.de/weblog/2010/01/speicherverbrauch-unter-linux-messen)
• What are the limitations of the application
• What are the advantages of the application

Note: Memory measurements for desktop GTK apps should be executed as the only GTK app (which explains the high USS/PSS)
